| Lawrence
established his bespoke cabinetmaking & joinery business in 1980 and
quickly specialised in oak and pitchpine kitchens made in a traditional
manner. All doors are constructed with mortice and tenon joints and
hung in frames on "butt" hinges, and drawers are of solid
wood. The finished job being almost indestructible, even the carcase
backs are 15mm thick!
Conventional
laminate worktops are the most popular, but granite and stainless steel
are materials which are rapidly gathering admirers. Total or partial
timber worktops provide a "softer" alternative which reflects
the trend to enlarge the kitchen and use it as a living room.
Good quality
imported chairs are offered to compliment the kitchen/diner; solid-seated
Windsor reproductions in beech from £57 or solid oak rush-seated or
upholstered diners from £120 ex works. A turnery service is
available, so beautifully matched tables can be provided of the size you
want from £450.
These days in
addition to kitchens, individually designed bedroom, bathroom and
free-standing living-room furniture is offered in all new and reclaimed
timbers. Special joinery is also undertaken, e.g.. front and
vestibule doors, solid hardwood flooring in many species (12 mm for
"overlay" or 20mm for full job).
A
"dresser" compliments a kitchen nicely, and we also offer
work-stations, desks and media storage built to high standards for
whichever room they are required.
